We took Bailey and Tristan to the Midland Railroad Easter Egg Train ride last weekend. It was a little chilly ~ colder than we'd expected ~ but we all enjoyed our time together, the Easter egg hunt, the opening of the eggs to see what we got, the photos with the Easter bunny, and the lunchtime fun afterwards.
The hunt was divided into two age groups: 1-3 and 4-7. I let Tristan go ahead without me when the whistle blew, but all the other parents stormed out onto the field to help their child get some eggs! It was hilarious to see these parents more worried about their kids "quickly" getting eggs, then letting their kids enjoy the hunt themselves. I just sat back, laughed, and watched Tristan carefully pick up one egg at a time and place into his basket. He was so intricate about his process and he still ended up with over ten eggs filled with frogs, jellybeans, gummie bears, and tattoos. The two cousins shared between each other's treasures on the train ride back. They had a blast!
